Anatoly Torkunov is Rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). He is a member of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Russian UN Association, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Mr. Torkunov has a Ph.D. in Political Sciences and Doctor's degree in History. He is member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Mr. Torkunov graduated from the Department of International Relations of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Having worked in various positions at MGIMO since 1974, he became rector of the Institute in 1992.
