Ms. Maleva graduated with a degree in Economics from Moscow State University, holds degrees from he Graduate School of Corporate Management of the Academy of National Economy and has a Ph.D in Economics. She is also a Professor at the Higher School of Economics.

From 1993 to 1994, she served as Deputy Head of the Department of the Center for Information and Social Technologies at the Ministry of Economics, 1994-1996 – Researcher at the Institute of Economic Analysis, 1997-2001 – senior researcher and later the Deputy Department Head at the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Ms. Maleva is the editor-in-chief of SPERO magazine. She is also a member of the Management Board of the Association of Independent Centers of Economic Analysis, Levada Center; member of the Advisory Council of the World Bank’s Moscow Representative Office; and a member of the Academic Council of the Demography Institute of the Higher School of Economics.
